Life Dailies – The Who, What, and Why

profile photoWHO

My name is Teresa.  Like so many of us out there, I have trouble taking time to focus on me.

WHAT

One day I was playing an online game, running missions, and idea struck me. This game has daily and weekly missions to complete. If you do them, you get a great reward.

I thought, why don’t I apply this to my own real life. So I came up with the idea to assign myself a theme each week and daily “missions” plus one capstone style weekly mission. Quick and easy things to do each day plus one fun thing to tie them all together at the end of the week. The idea is that the dailies take 5 minutes or less each day. Five minutes where I focus on myself. Reflect, learn, scribble some stuff down. You get the picture.

WHY

So why blog about it. Well, first of all, the idea terrifies me. Seems like a good reason to do something right? Well, doing things that I think will be fun and good for me but hard is one of the things I want to spend time doing. Of course, its also to help keep me accountable. I also thought maybe, just maybe, someone else might find it interesting and want to join in on the fun. And maybe in return I’ll be inspired to try new things that readers add.

So lets give this a whirl!

Thanks for reading and feel free to send in suggestions for daily or weekly missions.

  1. I’m excited to hear the updates on your progress! It’s awesome to see that you’re taking time for yourself. You’ll find as you get deeper into this that you’ll find that by doing that, you’ll have more energy to give yourself to others.
